TOP RECIPE FOR SLOW COOKED LASAGNA

My new favorite recipe for lasagna has  got be this one, cause its just so dang easy.
The taste of this recipe for  lasagna  is  truly awesome!

Serves 6-8
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can tomato sauce 29 oz
1 cup water
1 can tomato paste 6 oz.
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 pkg. no-cook lasagna noodles 8 oz
4 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese 16 oz
1 1/2 cups 4% cottage cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink.. add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, salt and oregano.
Spread a fourth of the meat sauce in an ungreased 5-qt slow cooker. Arrange a third of the noodle over sauce (break if necessary) Combine the cheeses; spoon a third of the mixture over noodles. Repeat layers twice. top with remaining meat sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or just until noodles are tender.
serve with a salad and garlic cheese toast for a whole delicious meal.

Enjoy!

  2. I love using my crockpot. However, I have always avoided dishes like this because I'm afraid I would miss having the nice crust on top and around the edges. So my question is: does cooking lasagna this way create a crust?
